Rebuild the town’s cafe and fill it with adorable animals
Calico is a cute life simulator game developed by Peachy Keen Games and published by Whitehorn Digital for the PC. The game is centered around rebuilding the town’s cafe and filling it with adorable animals.
Cafe rebuilding occurs when the protagonist’s aunt leaves a magical star-shaped island due to her retirement. Her cafe is then left in the hands of the protagonist, which results in the player now having to manage. The player then moves to Heart Village at the start of the game.
Responsibilities for the inherited cafe include:
- Search for and select potential animals to add to the cafe
- Attract visitors and decorate cafe
- Cook and serve meals
Filling the cafe with animals is one of the tasks needed in the game. Searching for all of the animals on the island is challenging but doable. The environment in the game offers differing habitats with different animals located in each one. The background artwork displayed in-game is both cute yet beautiful.
The player can approach any animal in-game. The nature of all animals on the island are both friendly and cuddly.
Players can add up to ten animals to their cafe. They can also select five other animals to follow them around the island. The rest of the animals not selected are categorized as free roamed in-game.
Pieces of cafe furniture are obtainable through the completion of quests or by buying more from town merchants such as Estelle and Poppy. Furniture comes in different styles. Some of these styles include cute, spooky, rad, and more.
Other adorable perks to take notice of while playing the game:
- Ability to store an animal on your head
- Cook meals at bug size
- Ability to ride larger animals
- Avatar Customization
- Ability to rename animals
Truly, Calico allows one’s imagination to soar while filling up the cafe with cuddly animals. Those who play the game will find themselves unwinding while the artwork aesthetics is calming as well. To end with, it is apparent that Calico is a relaxing game for all.
