1. Tell me more about your television show, The Tammie Tubbs Show.

After the death of my sons, Terrance Jr. and Aaron Tyler, in 2004 and 2005, God whispered to me that it was time to move back home to keep the legacy of my sons alive on television.

So on December 12, 2010, I stepped out in faith and left North Carolina. I returned home to Mississippi to start The Tammie Tubbs Show, which was formerly called Woman II Woman with Tammie Tubbs. At the time, I was the executive producer of my own show. As a television host, my ultimate goal is to connect with my audience, speak from the heart, and inspire viewers to keep the faith.

The Tammie Tubbs Show airs on WEPH TV 49, an affiliate of Christian Television Network (CTN) on Dish Network channel 49, Comcast Channel 4, Cable One Channel 11, and Maxx South Broadband Channel 20 every Sunday morning at 7 am and Thursday morning at 11:30 am.

10 years later, God has enlarged my territory to The Tammie Tubbs Show also appearing on The OnPoint Network and also on the Urban Broadcasting Network where viewers can binge-watch episodes on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Xbox, Youtube, or on any smart device.

2. What inspired you to write your book, Woman II Woman: Will the Real You Please Stand Up?

I have to be honest. After the death of both of my sons within 2 months of one another, I almost lost my mind.  I went through a state of depression. I did not know that I was depressed and suicidal. However, when I cried out to God, He delivered me and healed my mind and emotions to the point where I can now discern a broken-spirited woman because I once was her.

Woman II Woman: Will the Real You Please Stand Up was birthed out of a dark place of me feeling overwhelmed, heartbroken, and not understanding why.  In my book, readers will discover how to take inventory of your life, enjoy and live your best life, bounce back from the disappointments in life, and how to apply scriptural principles to everyday concerns in life. When others read my book, my prayer is that lives will be transformed by the power of God.

3. What is one piece of advice that has impacted you the most?

The wisdom my mother gives rings in my heart constantly. Her advice is to always keep Christ in the center of everything that I do. However, I’m also reminded of the advice that my father shared with me after my divorce. He uttered, “Tam, never wait for someone to do something for you that you can do for yourself.”  If God has given you the ability, trust Him as He leads and guides you to accomplish the mission at hand. Still to this day, I trust God instead of man.

4. How would you define success?

Success is defined by Webster as attaining wealth, prosperity, fame, and fortune. However, I believe success is having a kingdom mindset that helps you to be blessed in all areas of your life. In this mindset, there is nothing missing or broken. Yes, your goals, dreams, aspirations are fulfilled, but your heart will also desire to mentor others in order that they too can experience the blessed life that you are living with, which is of overflow and abundance.

Simply stated, success births success! It’s helping to transform lives!

5. What is a skill you think all women should learn and why?

I believe women should not limit themselves but work to possess multiple skills that will enhance their lives. As women, we are faced with challenges and barriers that can feel overwhelming. Therefore, I recommend every woman to learn domestic skills such as how to cook, financial skills to help with budgeting, communication skills, and survival skills to help themselves become more resilient. In other words, when life throws you lemons, create a lemonade stand filled with lemonade for sale so that you will have a seed, income, to sow to continually have blessings flow.

6. What is your favorite quote, and why?

The two quotes listed below are my favorites.

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22

Also, the listed quote below helps me to understand that what God has for me is for me.

“If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If it doesn’t, it never was.”

-Unknown

7. What is the biggest risk that you have taken in your career?

As much as I love teaching young people, recently as of August 2020, I resigned from Starkville Oktibbeha County Consolidated School District as a family and consumer science teacher. I needed to pursue full-time ministry, focus on the next phase of my life, and smell the roses. It may seem like a risk for many to walk away from a career and paycheck, but I’ve learned over the years to obey God when He speaks. For me, it wasn’t a risk, but it was definitely a divine order from my father in heaven who is setting me up for the Ephesians 3:20 blessings. When I obeyed, multiple doors of opportunities opened with my name on it. Words of Wisdom: You will never know unless you go! Whatever God has instructed you to do, just do it.  The blessing is in obedience.

8. Why did you write your book, I Still Have Joy?

I Still Have Joy began as a journal of my reflections while taking care of my sons who were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy-the #1 genetic killer under the age of 2.

In I Still Have Joy, I deliver an inspirational message to everyone who feels like giving up, especially those whom the enemy has in bondage and think that life is not worth living. In the book, I described how death inspired me to turn misery into ministry.

Through disappointment and devastation,  I encourage readers to trust God’s plan for their lives. The plan presented for parents to follow is to nurture their children the godly way. In the book, I share my life story of how I placed my teaching career on hold to care for my two disabled sons and a beautiful newborn baby girl.  It can be a mother’s struggle to balance her family and keep her mind sane.

But I encourage you to grab hold of the word of God and know that “no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper.” I boldly declare that God is faithful and we owe Him praise for all that He has allowed us to experience-whether that be good or bad.

9. Give some encouragement for other mothers who are currently experiencing trials and tribulations in their life right now.

Giving up is not an option. I know you may feel like walking away and throwing in the towel, but God will never leave you nor forsake you. It may be dark right now, but the sun is going to shine again. In addition to praying, play uplifting music throughout your home, speak positive affirmations daily, read your word, and be prayerful about who you share your struggles with. Surround yourself with positive vibes and those who will empower you to move beyond where you are. This is from my heart to yours.

10. Tell one thing that God is leading you to say right now.

Get up! You’ve been in that place for far too long. It’s time to move forward and do what God has called you to do. You may not have all the resources, money nor education, but God does. He knows what you need and how to divinely send it to you-your address. Will you trust Him? If you make one step of faith, I do believe that He will move mountains on your behalf.

Lastly, get up! Someone’s life is depending on you being in the right place at the right time.
